A lovely clean and well maintained apartment. The owner was very friendly and helpful with all communication. A great part of London to stay in. The tube is a couple of minutes walk away so a great place to stay for business or pleasure purposes. Lots to do on your doorstep. Primrose Hill is within walking distance. Gail's Artisan Bakery is just around the corner for a lovely breakfast or coffee. Lots of nice touches make this homely apartment top of my list of places to stay whilst visiting the capital ...thank you for the delicious chocolate Father Christmas! I highly recommend staying here and I know I will definitely be returning.

My wife and just I spent two nights in this beautiful apartment, and would have loved to be there longer. Located just a block from an Underground station in a quiet, safe, residential neighborhood, perhaps a twenty minute ride from the heart of London, this penthouse is spotless, spacious and beautifully equipped, and Carol-anne is a delightful owner. We've stayed in dozens of VRBO apartments over the years, and this one was among the best. I have no idea why anyone would choose to stay in a hotel when a beautiful, homey place like this can be had for a good deal less money. Very highly recommended!

This flat was just as shown online. Bright and roomy, clean and very comfortable. Kitchen totally equipped for any amount of cooking and food storage. Great to have a washer/dryer! Bathroom larger e modern. Great neighborhood and walked each morning and evening to the small village of Belsize for breakfast lattes/baked goods and yummy ethnic dinners. Always felt safe! Carol-Ann was most helpful and having her recommended driver pick us up at the airport was a terrific extra worth it! One block to the Tube and quick to anywhere in London. We'll definitely stay here when we return!

My 10 year old son and I came and stayed in the middle of August. It was really wonderful. About the apartment: it is really comfortable and cute. Carol-Anne has supplied you with everything you could need. I'm pretty high maintenance and wanted for nothing which is saying a lot! The kitchen is well supplied. The bathroom is fantastic. We were really comfortable in the living/sleeping room. The way the windows are gives a beautiful cross breeze. It was also very quiet. The bed was super comfortable. And my son crashed on the couch. He said he was good too. Granted there were no people in the 2nd floor flat. It is also located right by the Belsize Metro Station. And outside of that station (about a block up), are a bunch of little restaurants serving great food, a book shop, a grocery store, and some other shops. Also, Carol-Anne has put in a real washer and dryer (not a European combo unit). So, needless to say, it worked great. Carol-Anne lives in the bottom unit and was always more than willing to help us figure anything out. She was fabulous!! We had an unforgettable stay. If/When we go back, we'll definitely be calling Carol-Anne. Oh, and the only thing that would be a negative but didn't effect us is that there is no elevator. So, you carry your suitcases up and down. And your tired bodies up and down after a long day. That didn't bother us a bit but if you have any limitations, you might want to talk to Carol-Anne first to see if she can accommodate somehow.

We had a wonderful time in London at Carol-Anne's flat! Carol-Anne was a dream to deal with. She arranged a car to pick us up at Gatwick and tracked the car on the Internet, so she could great us curbside when we arrived. She also recommended a fantastic play and printed tickets for a football game for us as we did not have access to a printer! Wonderful suggestions on shopping and eating too. The flat was exactly as advertised. It was clean and welcoming and gave my family of 4 space to relax in....so much better than being crammed in a hotel. It is very well equipped and Carol-Anne even stocked the kitchen with a few basics for us (coffee, milk, cookies). The only hiccup in our stay was a problem with the water pressure on the street. In chatting with neighbors, we realized that most of the upstairs flats were without water. When we contacted Jane, who looks after the property when Carol-Anne is unavailable, she was very helpful. She contacted the water board, the plumber, brought us water and kept checking in with us until the problem was resolved. Wonderful service! We would definitely rent this flat again. This was perfect for us. A very clean apartment, comfortable bed, decent shower, a kitchen for a quick cup of coffee, close to transportation into the city and a very helpful owner. Carol-anne arranged our pick up at the airport and also our departure trip to the Eurostar, she checked with us during our stay and was available for questions, we could not ask for more.

My husband, 2 children (ages 9 & 11), and I arrived to find a beautiful, bright, airy, welcoming apartment in Belsize, with convenient restaurants, supermarkets, shops, and the tubes just a block away. Carol-Anne was most accommodating and very thoughtful with her offer for use of a cell phone (you'll need to just top it off for usage) and Oyster Cards (also need topping off for usage). We didn't use them but appreciated her thoughtfulness for travellers. It's a great apartment with all the amenities (the kitchen was well stocked with all the essentials, including a cappuccino machine and the pods! Thank you Carol-Anne! We look forward to coming back and possibly to a future location in Barcelona in the future!

Carol-anne's flat in Camden town is exactly as it is pictured in her ad. It is welcoming, warm, and spacious. Her kitchen provides all the modern conveniences; stove, washer/dryer, even a dishwasher (other than me). The markets around the corner had everything one could want. Carol-anne is a lovely, warn and gracious host. We look forward to our next trip to London, and our next visit to Black & White House.

This was the perfect location for a stay in London. The tube and a wonderful market are 2 minutes away. The apt was as described, very large bathroom, very clean; the living area was light and roomy with a very comfortable bed. The kitchen was modern and nice to have. The only hiccup was the washer/dryer which didn't work properly, we gave up using it. However, the owner was very sorry and has plans to replace it. The neighbourhood is very quiet and there is a wonderful park nearby, also don't miss the views from Primrose Hill. The owner was very nice and helpful. We would recommend this apt as a place to stay.

We stayed just over a week in the penthouse flat - and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The flat is just as described - spacious, bright, clean and well equipped. We really appreciated things such as the tea and coffee in the kitchen, and the toiletries in the bathroom. The bed is really comfortable. The location is fantastic - Belsize Park is such a nice area. The tube station is a 5 minute walk, and there are several restaurants, cafes and shops (including a supermarket) nearby. You can walk to Hampstead in about a half hour, or go in the opposite direction to Camden Town in 45 minutes. I really could not fault the location. Many reviewers mention the owner - Carol-Anne - and I have to do the same! She is a lovely lady, very welcoming, friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend staying here - we loved it so much that we are seriously thinking about returning next year!

My husband and I have now stayed in both flats at Carol-Anne's Black and White House in London, and we can recommend both units. The flats are spacious, clean and uncluttered, with wonderful light and nice amenities including free wi-fi, premium TV channels, and laundry. The hostess is both knowledgeable and helpful. Located a block from the Belsize Park Underground stop on the Northern Line, all London attractions are an easy tube ride away. We particularly enjoyed being in a location that is surrounded by a number of neighbourhood commercial clusters that feature a variety of good restaurants, pubs, public parks, and shopping experiences. We look forward to staying at the Black and White House on our next trip to London and will time our visit with the availability of either flat. It's a comfortable and safe place to come home to.

Such a lovely property in a beautiful neighbourhood. We felt really cared for by Carol-Anne's mate who checked us in and made sure we had what we needed. Plus she was available via email for some great advice concerning high tea! The neighbourhood was fantastic, shops, cafes, restaurants, easy access to the tube and to the bus which will take you everywhere!! Get an oyster card and get up on that double decker people!!! The beds were super cozy, the shower was a dream (and when I say dream I am singing it) and the kitchen was perfect for making tea and eggs for breakfast before hitting the streets to see the sights. Just a couple of area notes, there's a grocery around the corner that has a post office inside for sending post cards, very convenient! And a 5 minute walk up or down the local drag will get you to a couple of good pubs with lively patrons. And the bakery just beyond the grocery is really good and they do an afternoon tea that's quite nice. Thanks Carol-Anne and Jane!!! Hope to return soon!!

I stayed at Carol-Anne's for four days with my older teenage son. I could not have been more pleased. The location is a half block from a tube station and all of London is easily accessible. The neighbourhood [Belsize] is walking distance from Hampstead, which we went to several times for dinner or a pint at the Holly Bush. There are also shops for anything you need in Belsize, as well. The flat we stayed in was very modern, fully equipped, and spotless. It more than met the expectations I had from the web photos. The best part of the stay was Carol-Anne herself. She lives in another flat in the building, and was immediately available to answer questions. She is a very gracious individual, and a pleasure to meet. I would wholeheartedly recommend this owner and this property for anyone seeking comfortable accommodations away from the centre.

Carol-Anne, the owner, is an absolutely sweet person, and hospitable with a capital H. Everything we could have wanted was there, from the selection of teas, to the shampoos and hair dryer, to the soap for the washer/dryer, to the flowers, etc. etc. etc., and Carol-Anne was most helpful with all the touristy info too. The bed is extremely comfortable, and the location is totally quiet -- zero noise -- on a street marked with a sign that says TRAFFIC CALMED AREA at its entrance, and it's true. And yet it's just a two minute walk to the tube stop at Belsize Park, and then just twenty minutes into The City in London. The unit is bright and airy, and the full kitchen is a real bonus. Overall, a refreshingly positive experience. We were there 9 nights. Long enough, it seems, to become permanent friends with Carol-Anne. We'll be back!

The Black and White House receives my highest possible rating. It exceeded my expectations for convenience, value for the money, location, comfort, cleanliness and overall style! My husband and I came for a week of London sightseeing and wished we could have extended our stay for another week because we were having so much fun exploring all that London has to offer. The highlight of our trip was the fabulous Black and White House! The cheerful decor keep us smiling from ear to ear throughout our stay. We used Carol-Ann's driver to collect us at Heathrow and were very pleased we did. Carol-Ann was awake to greet us, despite our late night arrival. Her friendly face was a comfort at the end of a long day of travel from California, as well as was the generous selection of fresh and healthy snacks she had provided for our first night: quiches, yogurt, croissants, blueberries just to name a few. The residential location in Camden is quiet, safe, quaint and the Belsize Tube station is a mere 5 minute pleasant walk away. With grocery stores and restaurants just down the street, we easily found everything we needed. As soon as we can find more time to get away, we want to return to London and the amazing experience of the Black and White House!

I had the privilege of staying at the Black & White house with my two close girlfriends for four nights. Our stay completely went above our expectations and made our stay in London memorable. Carol-Anne was a wonderful host and was always available to help answers questions and just to make sure you were enjoying your stay. She was there to greet us when we arrived and happily answered any questions we had about London. The apartment is BEAUTIFUL! No words can describe how wonderfully furnished the apartment was. The bathroom was heavenly, with pink mood lighting and a big bathtub to relax in. The kitchen had everything you needed, from a french press to a full range top and stove. Carol-Anne also stocked the kitchen cabinets with some treats for us to snack on while we were there. After a day of exploring the city, the Black & White House was the PERFECT place to relax and seek solace after a busy day of sightseeing. Belsize Park is a quiet and relaxing area that still has the London-feel without the hustle & bustle of a big city. The apartment is conveniently located within walking distance of two grocery stores and many wonderful shops and restaurants. If you want a pint in a fun environment, walk down Haverstock Hill to Sir Richard Steele & pop in for some live music. If you want to go more into central London, the Belsize Park tube station is literally a 5 minute walk down the street and connects to anywhere you need to go. Some fun things to do: Take a day trip to Cambridge! It's only a 1.5 hr train ride and the University is beautiful! For fun unique shopping & souvenirs, go to Camden Lock or Spitalfield's Market in East London. Walk along the South Bank of the River Thames & go to the Tate Modern. Spend a day inside the British Museum if you can and see the Rosetta Stone & Ginger the Mummy. :) Overall, our stay at the Black & White House was more than we ever imagined. Carol-Anne was an amazing host & I'm telling all my friends interested in staying in London to definitely try and book the Black & White House! Thank you so much again Carol-Anne for making our trip to London memorable & amazing! We hope to come back!

We stayed in the Black and White House during the London summer Olympics. We loved the location, close to nice shops, restaurants and the Underground. The B&W House was beautifully clean and nice. We were thankful to the owner for equipping the kitchen with staples that our family needed. She was so helpful with her knowledge of the area. The arrangements were perfect for our family of 5, including 3 small children. I would highly recommend this property to anyone!

Great neighborhood full of great restaurants, beautiful homes, 2 minute walk to underground. The flat was very clean, and more than we expected. Best of all, was the owner Carol who was very helpful in every way possible. And also very delightful! We would highly recommend this rental to anyone visiting and getting a home away from home!

This is a very nice, comfortable apartment within walking distance to the Belsize tube station. There are all kinds of conveniences - markets, cash machines, dry cleaning, and an abundance of eateries right around the corner. Carol-Anne and her team were welcoming and organized. We would definitely stay here again.

My three adult children aged 18, 20 and 22 years old are quite tall, and needed more room than a traditional hotel room. This flat was roomy, pretty, bright, clean, and comfortable! The location is excellent as it is close to restaurants, the Tube, and a market. Also, the neighborhood is lovely and is a short tube ride into anywhere in central London. Carol-anne was awesome. If we ever return to London, we would definitely stay here again!

I stay two months in this wonder flat on Haverstock Hill (a few steps from the Belsize Park station). The flat looks exactly like pictures on the website and Carol Anne was a wonderful host. The apartment was comfortable, kitchen is fully stocked, the bathtub is awesome and the TV has cable. The neighborhood is safe and convenient with multiple food stores, restaurants, book store, cafes, food delivery, etc. I would definitely stay here again if the opportunity presents itself.

We had such a wonderful stay here! Everything was fantastic and it was such a great part of London to explore. The flat was the perfect size for my husband, our 7 year old daughter, and myself. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Carol-anne, she was so pleasant to work with before and during our stay. She went out of her way on several occasions to help us with things and made sure we were well taken care of during our time in London. She is very thoughtful and a has done a great job making this flat perfect for her guests. Everything was spotless upon our arrival and the flat is very bright and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked and had everything we needed for our stay. We hope to return soon!

My husband & I spent 7 nights here to celebrate my 60th birthday & what a treat it was! The flat was everything & more than it said on the package. It was bright, well equipped & spotlessly clean. And despite most of the decor being white, which can sometimes feel a bit sterile, this property felt really cosy & welcoming. The location was fantastic & the neighbourhood very quiet. Just a 2 min. walk to bus & tube stops which can have you in the City centre in around 20 min. Or if you feel like enjoying a bit of nature (as we did), the lovely, forested Hamstead Heath is within walking distance where we had some lovely walks & also visited Kenwood House which was really worth seeing. We would also recommend having a wander around the lovely Hampstead village that has a great selection of shops & restaurants. And to finish off, we would like to thank Carol-Anne for her gracious hospitality. She was truly a very helpful & kind owner. We would definitely stay here again & hope to do so in the not-too-distant future.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Black and White. Everything a person might need was there. The rooms were very clean, quiet and convenient. And your hostess will take care of any concerns or questions you might have. It was pouring rain and she loaned us raingear!! A good find.....

I booked this beautiful flat for 2 Aussies mates and they loved it. It is a great location and perfect for anyone visiting London. The photos are very accurate but its impossible to photograph just how special and beautiful this flat is. Every detail has been well thought out by Carol who wants her guests to feel like they are in a special home, however long your stay is. Immaculately clean with beautiful linen and a thoughtful welcome pack. Being in central London is close to everything you need to do or see. I would highly recommend it to everyone.

From the first momment I met Carol-Anne to the wonderful apt., I knew I had made the right choice. Close to the tube I was able to get around and get back to the quaint little neighborhood village. After the hectic day it was nice to come home to the clean spacious apt and relax before heading out. The Kitchen was well stocked, washer and dryer, and the bathroom was modern and sleek with a wonderful soak tub. I highly recommend you stay there. I know will be using it in the future! Carol-Anne was so helpful and accomodating with every request, right down to the package of biscuits she left for our tea!
