The Penthouse | Middle floor suite

The Black & White House, Penthouse Apartment, now has a sibling! A perfect place for a  business trip or holiday.

An architect designed truly original space, The Middle Floor Suite has all the same facilities as the top floor, i.e. Wi-Fi, TV + DVD player, washer dryer, fully fitted kitchen, with the addition of an amazing wet room, with full bath and shower, which showers you directly  from the ceiling surrounded by twinkling lights; a magical effect, especially in the twilight hours.

Revolving doors between the living area and bedroom allow for additional privacy when there are  guests sharing. And for the summer months a lovely outdoor balcony, uniquely accessed through the bathroom window, very Narnia like! There is a handle to help you through the window and steps onto the balcony, very manageable for most people. With a table and chairs out there, it’s a lovely spot for your morning coffee or that delicious sun downer.

I can supply a blow up mattress for families, a high chair and travel cot if needed.

I hope I have thought of everything to make your stay as happy and comfortable as possible, a home away from home...

    Your host,

    A great find!

What an amazing place! This was the perfect home away from home for our family during our week long stay in London. There is a tube and bus stop just around the corner. Plus a lot of great restaurants with very different cuisines all within walking distance. The apartment has a nice layout, which is great for families. The panels in the middle of the room spin shut so that someone can take a nap in the bedroom while the others watch TV in the living room and make tea. The kitchen has everything you could need; cups, plates, pans, and much more. We were able to save money by eating some meals in. The owner Carol-Anne was wonderful and so thoughtful! She was always available to help with directions, transportation, recommendations, or even just to chat about London itself. We look forward to staying with Carol-Anne again on our next visit to London.

    A week in London

My wife and I stayed at the B&W house for 8 nights. The first few nights were on our own then our 22 year old son travelling independently with a friend joined us for 5 nights. The unit was spacious for two, but also handled having the "big boys" with us with ease. The House is well located in a residential street close to a nice little shopping strip with restaurants, supermarket, fruit & vegies and a pub (for watching football over a few beers) . The tube is literally two minutes away at the end of the street. We traveled all over London with ease on the tube. Carol-anne was lovely and very helpful assisting us if we needed anything. This is a nice place well located approximately 15 - 20 minutes from central London depending on where you were heading on a particular day. This aided in our enjoyable time spent in London. I would have no hesitation recommending the property to others and would use it again the next time we were in London.

Wonderful way to start our holiday

Our family of three (mom, dad, 9yo daughter) stayed in the 1st (middle) floor apartment for four nights at the start of our three-week Britain holiday. The place was perfect, and we will definitely stay there again on future trips to London. The location was great, just a short two-minute walk to the Belsize Park Tube stop, and several restaurants, grocery stores, cleaners, and other amenities. We spent a lot of time in Camden Town and other places off of the Northern Line, so getting around was a snap. The defining characteristic about the apartment, however, is its size. It is immense! It is easily four to five times the size of typical London hotel rooms, with a large living/dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, a huge bathroom (with a shower in the *middle* of the room), and very big bedroom. I was in London earlier this year and stayed at a typical coffin-sized hotel room for twice the rate, without half of the benefits of the Black and White House. Carol-Anne was very welcoming and warm, especially so to our daughter, and was quick to provide suggestions and offer help when requested. If you have a family, her property is the perfect place to stay, with its size and kitchen--we stocked up at the local market on croissants, yogurt, and juice, and had a quick and cheap breakfast before leaving each morning (tea already provided, of course).

We stayed in this apartment for almost three weeks for holidays, me and three children aged 7 and both 15 yrs old. The apartment is very confortable, we felt like as we were at home, the listing photos accurately reflect the rental's appearance and amenities. The location is excellent in a beautiful neighborhood and less than five minutes walk from the tube station, surrounding by restaurants, coffee shops and supermarkets. The owner is a very kind person, always ready to help and offer assistance whenever we needed. Certainly I will recommend this property to friends.

This turned out to be one of our best rental experiences. Carol-Anne was a pleasure to work with, from initial inquiry to the moment of our departure. The flat is really attractive and was larger than it appeared in the photos. We were pleasantly surprised by thoughtful details (a bottle of milk in the fridge for us, toiletries available "just in case," detailed instructions on how appliances worked, etcetera). Everything was immaculately clean and tidy. The flat is extremely well located, just a few minutes walk from the Belsize Park tube station and a number of buses into the city center. It is also in easy walking distance of Hampstead and the Heath, both absolute gems in London. Restaurants and a grocery stores are also just moments away. We felt very welcome and right at home from them minute we arrived and we hope to be back soon.

I had a great experience staying at the Black and White house. I was traveling solo and stayed here for a week. The location is great. It is down the street from the tube, near lots of cute places to eat, and within walking distance to Primrose Hill and Regent's Park. Carol-Ann is a very kind and helpful host. She even mailed some things I accidentally left behind. The apartment was clean and stocked with all of the basics. It can be difficult to get a cab so I would recommend calling and arranging for one ahead of time.

    Wish I could live here!

We absolutely loved our stay in Carol's beautiful house. We loved the house, the building, the street, the neighborhood, Belsize Park...everything! We were lucky enough to start our 5 week European adventure here, and it set the tone for a wonderful trip. The location is great, close to groceries, restaurants, pubs, and the underground. It was a perfect base for our week in London. Carol went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and special. Thank you, Carol! (and I hope you are getting to spend some time with your new grand baby! :)

This apartment is lovely, spacious and comfortable. We are a family of four and this apartment was just the right size for us. The flat is just as described but better, really, and our hostess added fresh flowers and fresh milk and coffee for our arrival. Perfectly located with nearby tube and bus, this flat was quiet and peaceful and was the ideal spot to return to after a long day of sight seeing. There are grocery markets, cleaners, Boots, restaurants all nearby so you are actually living in the city and not in a tourist only area. The flat is clean, well maintained and everything worked and all sleeping spots were cozy. We all slept soundly. We would certainly stay here again without hesitation. We LOVED this flat! Highly recommended.

    Great choice in Camden Town

We stayed at this flat for 5 days and it was very comfortable for our needs. The photos accurately describe the appearance and amenities. The amenities were a nice touch including better than average toiletries. The owner was warm, friendly, knowledgeable and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. Our only issue was the "wet room" which made the bathroom unusable after someone took a shower and there were no electrical outlets in the bathroom. It made doing one's hair and using any electrical appliance a bit difficult. The bed was very comfortable and it was better than average linen and duvet cover. The underground is very close and it only took about 15 minutes to get to the theatre district. Camden town is a very eclectic neighbourhood which we like very much. I would recommend this property to a friend. Thank you Carol Anne for your hospitality.

My partner and I stayed in this apartment at Easter, and it was a perfect home base for exploring London. We loved the quiet Belsize Park neighbourhood and the Underground was so close we could get anywhere easily. It may have been a cold week in London, but we saw some great art and theatre and we loved coming home to this stylish and comfortable apartment. Thanks so much Carol-Anne!

Property was all we expected and more, in regard to location, amenities, clean and homey. The owner was friendly and warm, most helpful with information about the area and very much enjoyed our visit. This property has access to the Tube "northern line" within a block or two, very close and easy. We would most definitely recommend this property, with the close access to the Tube you have access to London...enjoy your visit.

This is a great find. We lived for 7 yrs in Belsize Park in the 90's, and wanted to re visit London for an extended period. The location is wonderful, close to Hampstead, Primrose Hill, Camden, St John's Wood and Highgate where our son lives. The tube station is 3 mins away and you can get to all the attractions very quickly, but return to peaceful Belsize Park. Everything is at your fingertips, shops, restaurant's, coffee shops, and a wonderful cinema that serves drinks and snacks in your seats. The accommodations are as advertised, very good. Carol Anne is a great host, providing fresh flowers and anything you need. She bought a new casserole dish for us because we intended to entertain and cook for some visitors. We think anyone would be happy to stay here

I rented this flat from Carol-anne my family of four. It was perfect. The kids slept well on the pull out couch and we appreciated all of the amenities. Carol-anne thought of everything that would make our stay so comfortable and easy, from the great krups coffee machine to fresh milk in the fridge to a docking station that has every cord imaginable. She also had games, books a drawer full of goodies that you may have forgotten. The flat is steps away from Belsize tube station and great restaurants. Very convenient, clean and great hostess!

The Perfect Place to stay before and after our wedding!

I rented both apartments in the Black and White House the night before and after my wedding in September. I stayed with my mum and bridesmaids the night before and we all got ready there in the morning. It was the perfect place to do this. Both apartments were beautiful and well equipped and Carol-Anne was so helpful and thoughtful with little touches such as wedding bunting and bottles of prosecco. The location was perfect for us, just 15 minutes from The Old Marylebone Town Hall where we got married but the best thing about the apartment really was Carol-Anne herself who was so helpful recommending drivers, hairdressers, beauticians, you name it. It was a huge bonus and really reduced some pre-wedding stress! If you are getting married in Old Marylebone Town Hall I would highly recommend this as the perfect place to stay with your bridesmaids the night before and with your husband the night after! It's also a beautiful setting for photography on your wedding morning because both apartments are furnished to such a high standard. I can't thank Carol-Anne enough for all her help and I fully intend to return!
